1And these are the generations of the sons of Noach (Noah) — Shem, Cham (Ham), and Yafet (Japheth); and sons were born to them after the flood.
2The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Yavan, and Tuval, and Meshekh, and Tiras. 3And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Rifat, and Togarmah. 4And the sons of Yavan: Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. 5From these the coastland peoples spread in their lands, each by his tongue, by their clans, in their nations.
6And the sons of Ham: Kush, and Mitsrayim (Egypt), and Put, and Kenaan (Canaan). 7And the sons of Kush: Seva, and Chavilah, and Savtah, and Ramah, and Savtekha; and the sons of Ramah: Sheva, and Dedan. 8And Kush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the land. 9He was a mighty hunter before YHWH; therefore it is said, "Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before YHWH." 10And the beginning of his kingdom was Bavel, and Erekh, and Akkad, and Kalneh, in the land of Shinar. 11From that land he went out to Ashshur, and he built Nineveh, and Rechovot-Ir, and Kelach, 12and Resen between Nineveh and between Kelach — that is the great city. 13And Egypt begot the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehavim, and the Naftuchim, 14and the Patrusim, and the Kasluchim — from whom the Pelishtim went out — and the Kaftorim. 15And Canaan begot Tsidon his firstborn, and Chet, 16and the Yevusi, and the Emori, and the Girgashi, 17and the Chivvi, and the Arqi, and the Sini, 18and the Arvadi, and the Tsemari, and the Chamati; and afterward the clans of the Canaanites spread abroad. 19And the border of the Canaanites was from Tsidon as you go toward Gerar, as far as Azzah; as you go toward Sedom and Amorah and Admah and Tsevoyim, as far as Lasha. 20These are the sons of Ham, by their clans, by their tongues, in their lands, in their nations.
21And to Shem also children were born — the father of all the sons of Ever, the brother of Japheth the elder. 22The sons of Shem: Elam, and Ashshur, and Arpakhshad, and Lud, and Aram. 23And the sons of Aram: Uts, and Chul, and Geter, and Mash. 24And Arpakhshad begot Shelach, and Shelach begot Ever. 25And to Ever were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days the land was divided; and the name of his brother was Yoqtan. 26And Yoqtan begot Almodad, and Shelef, and Chatsarmavet, and Yerach, 27and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diqlah, 28and Oval, and Avimael, and Sheva, 29and Ofir, and Chavilah, and Yovav; all these were the sons of Yoqtan. 30And their dwelling was from Mesha as you go toward Sefar, the mountain of the east. 31These are the sons of Shem, by their clans, by their tongues, in their lands, by their nations.
32These are the clans of the sons of Noah, by their generations, in their nations; and from these the nations spread on the land after the flood.
